Volunteering with us gives you the opportunity to become one with the locals, even if it’s just for a short time. Why not befriend and integrate with local people and children rather than merely being a passerby? Take this amazing chance to be in the centre of the action, uplift the children’s spirits and gain a unique insight into life in Pokhara, Nepal.
The children in our home are aged from three to nineteen. Our children, through no fault of their own, have been dealt a tough hand in life and need to overcome economic disadvantages and many other barriers to reach their full potentials. We – with your help – can ensure that the children we care for have everything they need in order to succeed in their education and overall upbringing and development. Support from local and international volunteers is vital for us if we are to realise our dream of supporting each of our children through the provision of a safe and healthy home environment, clothing, nutritious food, clean water and the chance to gain a quality education.
Currently we have no specific time boundaries and are open to accepting volunteers for any length of time. We also welcome visitors to come to Rainbow Children Home to visit and play with the children at any time. Our doors and hearts are open to you!
The most important thing is to ask yourself why you want to volunteer, how much time you have, what skills and experience you would like to share and what are your expectations and hopes.
Rainbow Children Home does not receive any financial support from the government and is run solely on individual donations and program fees. Therefore, we ask our volunteers for a contribution to help support expenses such as food, rent, educational materials, clothing, and medical expenses for all of our children. As a volunteer you will be responsible for your own travel costs including flights, in country travel and any other additional activities.
